“Let Go. … To Let Grow. .”

with 5 comments

Was watching the movie “Frequency” today, and it took me back to the time when I was teaching my daughter to ride a bicycle. It’s typical to hold onto the bicycle for the first few days till the child finds his/her balance. And then one day comes the time when, you just decide to let go. That is the moment when the child takes that big step to the next level. What’s crucial here is the timing when you let go. Too early and the child will fall instantly and probably end up with a shaken confidence. Too late and you would make the child dependant for a period longer than required.
It’s equally important to be mindful of the right moment to”let go” whilst grooming teams. It’s as important to “let go” as it is to “hand hold”. What’s crucial is the timing!

  1. Brilliant. Crisp and true.
Yes it is so importantly about the timing of when we have to let go. And that applies to all relationships as much. And to the child within us too.

  4. yup! it all got to do with the correct timing…and the letting go is as important for the child as it is for the parent.. the wrong timing will shake up the child as well as the parent and will take a long long time to build up that confidence in either of them…
